Today our athletes got a dose of true core strength. Take a weight and hold it over your head at arm’s length and then squat with it. That is essentially what an overhead squat is. It requires an outstanding amount of core strength to stabilize that weight as your hips move down and then back up. You don’t need the newest gadget to build solid abs. Try overhead squatting for abdominal strength and as a bonus you’ll strengthen your hips, back, legs, shoulder girdle, and every other muscle you can think of as well as some that you can’t think of. Overhead squatting is not for the faint of heart but our athletes are up to the challenge.
